and chances to do good things, as well as to enjoy good things.
First I need to share that our good friend and my partner in ministry, Steve York and family, will be moving to San Luis Obispo in early January. This will place them in a more favorable place logistically for Steve’s travel to California campuses. We wish them well in their move and their ministry to students around the state.
Next, our search team is actively seeking the next Pastor for Journey Church. It’s been my pleasure to be part of the stabilizing force to make us ready for this next step and I’m excited to see what God is going to do.
As far as January is concerned, I thought it might be good to update everyone on my own plans for the church. First, there will be a new sermon series called “What is the Church?” In this series we will define the church and our outline our responsibilities and privileges as church members.
Second, the Pathfinder class (Sundays at 9:15 a.m.) will start a new video series hosted by Pastor Robert Jeffress called “A Place Called Heaven.” Do you have questions about heaven, near death experiences and whether you will recognize loved ones there? This series is for you!
Finally, we will also resume Journey Groups with another new study. This is also a video series by Ray Vander Laan and it is called “Walking With God in the Desert.” How can we experience living water when life is tough? This 7-week series will seek to answer that question.
I give thanks again for my amazing body of believers and my friends!
I LOVE BEING THE PASTOR OF THE JOURNEY CHURCH!
Pastor Jim
Why not give us a try and find how loving, caring and supporting a church assembly can be!
