Because of that, whenever I see God's will explicitly stated in the Bible, it stops me in my tracks. Or at least it should. For one thing, it's rarely about particular decisions and far more often about how to live from day to day. That in itself should tell us something about God. (And it does.)
Here's what got me today. In 1st Peter 2:15 we read this:
"For it is God's will that you silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good."
Can you imagine the impact if Christians would just live that out? How often have we tried to drown out ignorance by shouting louder? What if we changed our tactics and just went about doing good?
I'm going to try that. I hope you'll join me. Maybe the world will become a little quieter, a little more peaceful, a little ... well, better.
