holiness matters

Dear friends,
We've been in Hebrews 12 for the past several weeks and the message for Sunday, June 17, was tough to prepare. God was obviously not only offering a message for our church, but for me personally.

As Sunday morning approached, I became increasingly convinced that the heart of the message--holiness—is a matter that will either propel us forward as a church ... or hold us back.

We'll be wrapping up the series this Sunday (June 24), with the opportunity to interact through comments, questions, and further study. But I believe this message of holiness—yours, mine, and ours—is so important that I want everyone in the church to hear it, read it, and apply it.

If you weren't at church last week, I'd like you to watch the service on our Facebook page if at all possible. And regardless of whether you were here or watched online, I want you to have a transcript of the message. Hard copies are available in the entry way and we will have PDF version available online (here).

With God's love,
Pastor Randy

The church can teach us a lot about discipline. When you feed a deity, you also feed yourself. If you cleanse your mind, you are not helping anybody else but yourself mostly. You cannot pour from an empty cup. If you will not fill yourself with positive thoughts, your future will be hopeless but that is really not going to happen. There is a God that takes care of things whether you believe it or not. You see when you sincerely wanted to bring joy to anyone, you end up receiving a huge fraction of that same joy for yourself.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1st John 4:10 NIV
